On April 4, 1977, Davidson College classmates Charles E. Davis and William H. Humbert opened Davis & Humbert in a small office in Mebane’s Welcome Finance building In 1988, Charlie and Bill built the current office at 200 West Center Street and in 2014, the firm expanded into the former Eagle Oil building on Third Street. As Mebane has grown, so have we. What began as a two-man practice with a single typewriter and a telephone has grown into a multi-disciplinary law firm with five experienced attorneys and a dedicated support staff. 

In 2021 Charlie transferred ownership of Davis Humbert Law to Robert “Rob” Jennings and Ralph Hill. Rob began working with Davis Humbert Law in 2003 and Ralph joined the firm in 2017. At Davis Humbert Law, we realize that a smaller firm with a focus on personal attention to each client is simply a better way of effectively and successfully representing clients. The attorneys at Davis Humbert Law bring over 75 years of combined experience in representing clients on a wide variety of legal matters. Our firm represents clients from all walks of life in both District and Superior Court.
